Informational Message to Coaches
Coaches new and old:
If you are having issues or feel you cannot solve a problem within your program or conference. Please reach out to your association board for help or advice. If we cannot solve it we have additional resources you are not alone.
One of the most important items pre-season, is the parent, athlete coaches meeting. With the large turnover experienced of Athletic Directors in our state. Many of the new AD’s are overwhelmed and do not have time or know to schedule. Coaches, if you do not have a meeting planned, it can help solve many issues that may arise during the season. You need to state your season schedule, goals and expectations for the upcoming season. Give the parents an opportunity to express their concerns and expectations. Most importantly… if there is a conflict, your policy is a minimum 24 hour cooling off period. That way, the situation can be resolved and discussed calmly… we hope!!

Yearly Dues Proposal Beginning 2025-26 Season
Yearly Dues Change Proposal for institution beginning 2025-26
Current:
Membership is $50 for returning members with a $10 discount for early registration and new members. This cost is for the first two members from each school. Membership, beyond two, from a school have a cost of $20 per member.
Membership costs include a $5 fee submitted to the MHSCA for basic membership in that umbrella organization. Along with an additional fee of $6 that is submitted for liability insurance coverage that is offered through that organization by the early registration date of 12/15 each season.
Proposed:
With MHSCA enacting an increase from $5 to $9 in the basic membership starting with the 2025-26 season, it is proposed that the membership fees for the MHSIBCA be increased by $5 per member beginning with the 2025-26 to offset this cost. Thus, the membership fee would increase to $55 dollars for returning members, with the $10 early registration discount being applied for applications received by 12/15 that includes the liability insurance. The new member discount will be applied through the January 31st final signup date but will not include liability insurance after 12/15. Memberships, beyond two, for a school would move from $20 to $25.
Posting date 9/16/24
