2-8-09    2-9-09    2-10-09    2-11-09    2-12-09    2-13-09    2-14-09

2-1-09    2-2-09    2-3-09    2-4-09    2-5-09    2-6-09    2-7-09

2-17-09

While leaning against a snow-laden tree deep in the woods of Iron Mountain, a slinky Shadow crept into view with the following news:
In Division 3, Singles: Joe Tomassoni of Iron Mountain and Michelle Robinson of Lansing Catholic Central; Team: Boys, Kent City, Girls, Bad Axe.
In Division 2, Singles: Andrew Wilber of Wyoming Park and Kelsey Bandstra of
Wyoming Rogers; Team: Boys, Caro, Girls, Coldwater.
In Division 1, Aaron Hawkins of Grand Haven and Ceara Brown of
East Kentwood; Team: Boys, Troy, Girls, Flint Kearsley!
When I looked up from my note-taking, The Shadow was gone…but I heard him cry out somewhere in the thickly wooded area, “I’ll be back tomorrow!”

2-16-09

The Shadow drifted slowly across the mitten…AKA
Michigan…and gathered up the following:
In Division 3, Singles: C.J. Lasarz of Flat Rock and Amanda Ekelbecker of Galesburg Augusta; Team: Boys, Kellogsville, Girls, Ithaca.
In Division 2, Singles: Grady Zuiderveen of Hudsonville Unity Christian and Shirley Shaltis of Wyoming Park; Team: Boys, Swan Valley, Girls, Escanaba.
    In Division 1,
Troy Lutz of Zeeland and Nicole Peterson of Chippewa Valley; Team: Boys, Clarkston, Girls, Mercy!
    More….tomorry!

2-15-09

While some get to play in the sun, others are left at home to deal with the cold and forthcoming snowfalls. Such is the plight of BS who dutifully arose at 2:30 AM to trundle off to an airport and wave goodbye to the good wife. She is headed to Florida and sunshine with a friend while BS was left to have an early breakfast with Tom Stockton, Head Coach of Stevenson. Thence, we both traveled to the Utica/Eisenhower Doubles tourney and wished all well! It was only after placing toothpicks into the eyelids to prop them open that BS could read The Shadow’s latest pencilings of Ground Hog delight:
In Division 3, Singles: Greg Null of Jonesville and Celsie VanLoon of Grass Lake; Team: Boys, Traverse City Christian, Girls, St. Charles.
In Division 2, Singles: Dan Joslin of Rogers and Lauren Bone of Almont; Team: Boys, Durand, Girls, Perry.
In Division 1, Brett Abraham of Walled Lake Central and Erin VanDrunen of
Rockford; Team: Boys, Brighton, Girls, Traverse City Central!
Now, to lift off those toothpicks and drift into weary sleep!

2-14-09

As it was that special day, Valentines Day, and The Bowl Swami had created the Heart Breaker Baker to commemorate it, he was gone early to visit with all…after taking care of more snow…and, thus, could not receive communications from The Shadow until now. So, heed you what he quickly whispered to me:
In Division 3, Singles: Brandon Temeer of Kellogsville and Jessica Parameter of Kent City; Team: Boys, St. Louis, Girls, St. Francis Cabrini.
In Division 2, Singles: Gordie Stene and Josette Jennings of Belding; Team: Boys, Marshall, Girls, Goodrich.
In Division 1, Tony Harger of Carman Ainsworth and Jessica Klingenberg of
Zeeland; Team: Boys, Flint Kearsley, Girls, Oxford!
May all of you have a Heart Filled Day!

2-13-09

Perhaps it was the electrical zapping that is causing The Bowl Swami’s computer to flake in and out. We do know it fried one of the clocks, but it has been a bit frazzling to have to continually reboot and do things over. Or...is it just that today is Friday, the 13th. Regardless, The Shadow has uncovered some more names and schools:
In Division 3, Singles: Josh Emanouil of Kent City and Deanna Witkowski of
Sandusky; Team: Boys, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Girls, Menominee.
In Division 2, Singles: Mitchell Blankespoor of
Grand Rapids South Christian and Cassie Runyan of Corunna; Team: Boys, Mason, Girls, Armada.
In Division 1, Jordan Foster and Alexis Mollitor of Holt; Team: Boys, Walled Lake Central, Girls, Grandville!
Short of pitching the computer in the lake, BS will try to provide more Shadowy discoveries tomorrow!

2-12-09

It wasn’t only the floods invading the area to slow down The Bowl Swami’s reporting. Electrical power shut down BS for most of last night, thus The Shadow had to send his prognostications via cell phone. However, BS's cell phone had a dead battery. Here, much later, is The Shadow's deliverance:
In Division 3, Singles: Matt Arnold of Sandusky and Alyssa Sanders of Flat Rock; Team: Boys,
Sandusky, Girls, St. Ignace La Salle.
In Division 2, Singles: AJ Ward of Ionia and Stephanie Penxa of
Regina; Team: Boys, Ishpeming-Negaunee, Girls, Plainwell.
    In Division 1,
Brandon Sawyers of Cousino and Meaghan Carter of Grand Ledge; Team: Boys, Monroe, Girls, Ann Arbor Pioneer!
The power is back, and BS is looking for a speedier delivery on tomorrow’s post!

2-11-09

Where did all the rain come from? Thought this was winter. Anyway, The Shadow had to rent a boat and paddle his way over to turn in the latest:
In Division 3, Singles: Justin Hazel of Ann Arbor Skyline and Brooke Allan of St. Ignace La Salle; Team: Boys, Oscoda; Girls,
Rogers City.
In Division 2, Singles: Austin Landry of
Charlotte and Ericka Thompson of Ferndale; Team: Boys, Center Line; Girls, Marshall.
In Division 1, Singles: Steven Hamilton of Walled
Lake Central and Holly Broadwater of Waterford Kettering; Team: Boys, Jackson; Girls, Stevenson.
The Shadow jumped back in his boat and revved up his rubber band motor and sallied off. He will report more tomorrow!

2-10-09

    The Shadow revealed this morning:
In Division 3, Singles: Kyle Owens of Mason and Jaimie Poole of
East Jackson; Team: Boys, Jackson Lumen Christi, Girls, Kent City.
In Division 2, Singles: Jalen White of Lansing Catholic Central and Raychel Wolever of
Charlotte; Team: Boys, Croswell-Lexington, Girls, Essexville Garber.
In Division 1, Singles: Joey Hoover of Davison and Cheyenne Long of Saline; Team: Boys, Carman Ainsworth, Girls, Farmington!
    Tomorrow…more Shadow revelations!

2-9-09

The Bowl Swami was in the House at the Bowl Swami Challenge Invitational. Thus, once again we are late with The Shadow’s utterances. They were sent on a piece of paper by carrier pigeon, but here they are:
In Division 3, The Shadow scribbled, “Keep your eyes on the prize, and watch for these names to attend the “Big Dance!” Singles: Sam Holst of Vandercook Lake and Chelsea Nurmi of Ewen Trout Creek; Team: Boys, Iron Mountain, Girls, Menominee.
In Division 2, the Shadow had scratched, almost unintelligibly, but The Bowl Swami was able to decipher - Singles: Jake Delapaz of Eaton Rapids and Samantha Johnson of Rogers; Team: Boys, Charlotte, Girls Rogers.
In Division 1, and although this portion was dampened and stained...by holding it to the light, The Bowl Swami found - Singles: Peter Wagner of Berkley and Janine Baranski of Utica; Team: Boys, Zeeland, Girls, Anchor Bay!
When The Bowl Swami reached for what looked like another piece of paper, but the pigeon flapped his wings and flew away. I guess ye will have to wait until the next day to see who else may have been inked for eternity!

2-8-09

Hasten ye eyes to what follows. Here be more pin-appenings of the future:
In Division 3, the Shadow bade we keep our eyes on - Singles: Kyle Stepke of Napoleon and Lynsey Molinaro of Jonesville; Team: Boys, Flat Rock, Girls, Lumen Christi.
In Division 2, the Shadow dusted off more dirt and exclaimed - Singles: Sean Kokenos of Lakeshore and Jessica Cords of Perry; Team: Boys, Ionia, Girls, Charlotte.
In Division 1, the shadow, removing more dirt spit out - Singles: Jeff Kapler of
South Lyon and Jenna Law of Milford; Team: Boys, Detroit Catholic Central, Girls, Northville!
The Bowl Swami once again asked for more, but the Shadow whispered, “Ye will have to wait until the  ‘morrow,” and he quickly faded out of sight.

2-7-09

While cranking up the snow blower so as to get to the lanes and uncover more proof, The Shadow appeared with more whisperings. As the wind whistled snow in the face, he uttered these:
Division 3: Singles, Kolin Thayer of Lumen Christi and Katie Vaughn of Flat Rock; Boys Team, Vandercook Lake, Girls Team, Riverview Gabriel Richard.
Division 2: Singles, Marc Murphy of Ferndale and Jessica Snyder of Mattawan; Boys Team, Mt. Morris, Girls Team, Divine Child.
Division 1: Singles, Nic Sutherland of Grand Blanc and Heather Krueger of L’Anse Creuse North; Boys Team, Hudsonville, Girls Woodhaven.
Once again, I have to rev up the blower and push on...but come back tomorrow for more from that Black Blanket of Bowling!

2-6-09

The slippery Shadow was able to skate forward with more predictions while some athletes received a respite due to the ice:
Division 3: Singles, John Leroux of Flat Rock and Nicole Crabtree of Vandercook Lake; Boys Team, Napoleon, Girls Team, Kellogsville.
  Division 2: Singles,
Tyler Collins of Mt. Morris and Chelsea Essenmacher of Richmond; Boys Team, Bangor John Glenn, Girls Team, Richmond.
Division 1: Singles, Seth Bouwman of Hudsonville and Angie Ramsey of Northville; Boys Team,
Portage Central and Girls Team, Grand Blanc.
Oops...my fingers keep slipping off these icy keys...more tomorrow.

 2-5-09

While the winds howl mightily, there is nothing to dissuade The Shadow and his henchmen from uncovering more predictions. Here, then, are today's shadowy pronouncements:
Division 3: Logan Zammaron of Ithaca and Jessica Cords of Perry; Boys Team, St. Francis Cabrini and Girls Team, Vandercook Lake.
Division 2: Kevin Kniebbe of Birch Run and Rebecca Chase of Alma in Singles; Boys Team, Chelsea and Girls Team, Regina.
  Division 1: Doug Snyder of
Caledonia and Sarah Lokker of Anchor Bay; Boys Team, Stevenson, Girls Team, Rockford.
Stay tuned, ye pin-rappers, as another Chapter will be revealed tomorrow.

2-4-09

Remember this ye followers: An athlete without a coach rarely rises to the top...but...a coach without an athlete NEVER rises to the top. Never forget why we coach! Hark ye now to the clouded revealments:
In Division 3, the Shadow whispered to watch for these to appear in the State Finals - Singles: Mike Goike of Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard and Lauren Thierry of Riverview Gabriel Richard; Team: Boys,  St. Charles, Girls, Sandusky.
In Division 2, the dark cloak revealed the following - Singles: John Robishaw of Freeland and Ashley Kerr of Garber; Team: Boys, Richmond, Girls, Alma.
In Division 1, the shadowy form burst forth with - Singles: Elliott Arnold of Wayne Memorial and Caitlin Coriasso of Grand Blanc; Team: Boys, Wayne Memorial, Girls, Walled Lake Central!
Tune in tomorrow for another edition!

2-3-09

As promised to ye, the Bowl Swami, aided by The Shadow, predicts yet more pinsters to find their way to States! Hear ye the following:
In Division 3, the Bowl Swami heard from a shadowy shape that in Singles will be found  Justin Maher of Hemlock and Brittney Rocha of Wyoming Kellogsville; Team, Boys, Ithaca and Girls, Perry.
In Division 2, the darkness unveiled that in Singles, Brian White of Ferndale and Tawni Vollmer of Tecumseh; Team, Boys, Ferndale and Girls, Swan Valley.
In Division 1, a whisper of bowlingese brought forth that in Singles, Robert Schlotta of Farmington and Kaili Millbauer of Walled Lake Central; Teams, Boys, Davison and Girls, Taylor Kennedy.
    More tales will follow tomorrow
.

The Bowl Swami

2-2-09

Once again, Punxsutawney Phil found his Shadow and six more weeks of winter has been predicted. However, it is not strange that the Bowl Swami's Shadow could not be found this morning, as there were reports he was somewhere beneath a pile of snow...but it was heard The Shadow scoured the multi pines until the wee hours and did uncover a bevy of knowledge to pass on to his constituents.
So, bend ye ears, oh keglers everywhere! The Bowl Swami patiently lent his ears to the whispered Bowlingese from his Shadow. He cautioned that what was to follow could be told forthwith, but rather in small doses that could safely be swallowed by his followers. Thus, with due respect, the Bowl Swami must reveal the Groundhog Predictions in daily portions. Therefore, ye well-oiled followers of the lanes, ye must come back daily to hear more names such as those that follow.
In Division 3, the Shadow uttered to watch for these to appear in the State Finals - Singles: Josh Greenwald of Birch Run and Jessica Lubbers of Kellogsville; Team: Boys,  Bay City All Saints, Girls, Flat Rock.
In Division 2, the dark cloud spoke, along with others to be revealed later, the following - Singles: Jordan Sanker of Dearborn Heights Annapolis and Brittany Potts of Swan Valley; Team: Boys, St. Clair Shores Lakeshore, Girls, Tecumseh.
In Division 1, the shadowy form burst forth with - Singles: Jared Juszczyk of Crestwood and Sarah Rawski of Macomb L’Anse Creuse North; Team: Boys, L'Anse Creuse North, Girls, Stevenson!
The Bowl Swami could not hold his emotions in place and asked for more, but the Shadow warned, 'tis best to put the pieces together slowly. And so, it shall be. Ye shall hear more after another shadow of the sun has passed. Stay tuned, ye followers of the marble-acious approach, and more Predictions shall be uncovered tomorrow!

2-1-09 @ 10:00 PM

At this time of the year, Punxsutawney Phil annually makes his prediction for Winter. He makes his prediction based on the Shadow that may or may not be seen. If seen, we have six more weeks of winter.
The Bowl Swami also makes predictions at this time of the year. He too has a Shadow! Unlike Phil, the Bowl Swami’s Shadow has the power of intuition and uncanny perceptiveness! He can provide the Bowl Swami, in Bowlingese language, a prophecy of forthcoming events in the Hallowed Halls of High School Bowling Lanes.
Indeed, each day, starting February 2, The Shadow of the Bowl Swami will forecast various teams and individuals that should catapult to fame at this year’s Post Season events! He will then whisper in the ear of the Bowl Swami all that shall be revealed. Feast your eyes tomorrow upon what the Shadow may cast!
